The Michael Jackson Memorial Tribute

This is how a tribute is done.

That has to be the most beautiful memorial I have ever seen. I don’t know what else to say. I can’t choose a stand out moment because every minute of it was a stand out. Anyone watching this, a fanatic, a casual fan, neutral or even a detractor, cannot watch this program without telling me they felt something.

I groaned when I heard Rev. Al Sharpton would be there, but he definitely proved me wrong with his speech. Queen Latifah did an excellent telling of Dr. Maya Angelo’s poem for Michael, but I’m not complaining.

And his children, my God his children! They were so beautiful (so was the rest of the family). I really saw Michael in their faces for the first time, especially tonight. I hope they stay strong and God help the media to leave them alone.

Tears tried to flood the gates that were my eyes several times; Brooke Shields’ speech, Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz singing ‘I’ll Be There’, Usher singing ‘Gone Too Soon’, etc. But it was Marlon and Paris Jackson where I totally lost it.

God bless the Jackson family and bless you Michael Jackson.

Rest in Peace.

1958-2009.

For those who thought holding a public memorial service was to turn Michael´s death into a circus: let it be known that it was prepared, and attended, and performed with the utmost care, respect and good taste… everyone who participated shared with the world heartfelt, sincere anecdotes and feelings of Michael as an artist and as a person. None of them were acting or pretending: it was obvious that they felt every word.
I turned off the TV in tears but with a great sense of relief, because one of the things that had worried me most in the last days was the welfare of Michael´s children. And now that I saw them, and I saw their uncles and aunts kissing them, holding them and taking care of them, I know they weill be OK in the end.

I agree Floacist, when Marlon and Paris spoke the tears flowed like a waterfall. Also when Brooke Sheilds said that MJ was perched on top of a Cresent moon I was looking for my tissue then. Kudos to all that were involved in putting that homegoing service 2gether..
P.S.- the choir singing Soon and Very Soon also started up my tear ducts

I agree, the Memorial was absolutely beautiful. I was in tears from beginning to end. I wish Marlon’s words were strong enough to shield Michael…leave him alone and let him rest in peace.

I’m so tired of hearing about the ‘possibility’ of the kids not being biologically Michael’s. It’s NO ONE’S business.

Rest in Eternal Peace, Mr. Jackson.

Oh, my God, now the media is saying Paris did not want to speak and she was forced to do it. Will they EVER stop? How much can this family take?

    Hello Floacist and everyone,

I agree. The memorial was very moving. It was very dignified and I was very touched.

When will the media stop bashing him? I feel so deeply sorry for his children and for his family who have to deal with all the accusations, rumours and tabloid trash.

I was a little angry that Martin Bashir was actually allowed to comment on Michael’s death during the memorial for ABC News. I don’t think that Michael would have liked that. What are your opinions about this?

Thank you, Michael. May you rest in peace now and I hope that one of your wishes will be granted now: to be left alone.

Thank you, Floacist for writing this blog which is an abundant source of information. Thank you for blogging! Please keep on blogging.

No, I don’t think Michael would have liked it. I didn’t like it.

They will have to leave him alone soon. Let us just all pray to God that they don’t do to his children what they did to him.

Guys, I want us to have some website where we can all log in to register michael bashing by media – which media. what they said etc , so we as a group can write or email them to stop. If we raise our voices as one, these guys will stop.

      Here is an idea:
We could compilate all the papers and articles and interviews in which he was unjustly criticized or ridiculed, and specially all those papers that printed blatant lies (like The Sun) and those TV shows which were based on absurd lies (like Hard copy, with our friend Diane Dimond). And then we can send them for free to Thomas Mesereau, to add to his documentation in the trial “The Jackson family vs. The Sun” (or The National Enquirer, whatever). The amount and perverseness of the lies that this man had to take in the last twenty years are overwhelming and appalling!!! No human being could tolerate them without losing his mind!! Surely there´s a right to sue on the grounds of libel.

This was a beautiful service. I am so happy that his family was there and so grateful that they brought his body to the service. The whole thing just tore me up. His beautiful children needed to see the love and respect the world had for their daddy. I don’t care what anyone says, I see Michael in those children. If they aren’t his biologically (and I still think they are) then he had a very good reason for choosing to do it otherwise. It didn’t make him love them any less.

I agree the press should be held accountable for anything they print. But we all need to accept our own responsibility and stop reading, buying or listening to them, also.

America killed not only a star, we killed a SUN, and the world is a much darker place without him.

Why is Prescription Drugs Killing 300% more Americans than Illegal Drugs?
(“The Jackson Law” would be appropriate.)

If two men can create Google from Lego’s, why is it impossible for the DEA or the FDA to create a database that cross-references every prescription drug, doctor, pharmacy, driver’s license number and social security number in the United States? Preventing prescription drug addiction and to stop the thousands of accidental deaths each year. Patients that become addicted to these drugs should not face penalties for their habits. Instead, the pharmaceutical companies should provide free and long rehab for the victims. Pharmaceutical companies fail to reveal vital dangerous information to the doctors or encourage the doctors not to discuss life saving information with their patient. Pharmaceutical companies purposely leave this up to the pharmacist to consult with the patient’s, knowing the patient rarely listens to the pharmacist. Because the pharmaceutical companies use-deceiving tactics, these pharmaceutical companies should provide free long-term rehabilitation to all their victims and stop them from murdering thousands more innocent Americans.

Fact: “While the number of dead bodies containing heroin jumped 14 percent from the prior year, to a total of 110, the number of deaths influenced by the painkiller oxycodone increased by 36 percent, to a total of 1,253.”

Geraldo (whom i like and think was fair to MJ when it came to interviews) pointed out the hypocrisy of many celebs who now wanted to come out of the wood work after his death to claim their friendship and tight union to Michael when he was alive, when we all know damn well no one was there for him and everyone alienated him after teh aquittal in 2005.

The same celeb crying crocodile tears after his death like they ever gave a shyt when he was alive.

lets name names of the HYPOCRITE celebs
    - Cher
    - Wyclef
    - Brookshields
    - Corey Feldman

please add names – LETS CALL THEM OUT – I HATE HYPOCRITES

This is the headline in the NOTW sunday newspaper and here is the link below (there is no photo online) I think it concerns the room that MJ died in the day after he died and the scene that was found by the police. see:

I hope that it is not ghoulish in anyway and that the NOTW are being responsible and are just trying to make sure that the truth comes out.

I don´t know, Jan… it could be true, but I wouldn´t read much into it. This case is very delicate and serious. It has been handled with the utmost care. The coroner has been very clear about all previous news about MJ´s body being fake, and the official statements about the results of the autopsy have been postponed. All of a sudden, they have all this information about a room which has supposedly been sealed off to preserve it in case it is eventually considered a crime scene?
This is an investigation that might (might) derive in charges of medical negligence. Which means they will be very careful and won´t give information that could mess things up. Besides, I don´t trust articles whose content is based on what supposedly “an insider” said (if you don´t give me his name, I don´t buy it). And I don´t trust any author which calls my Michael “Jacko”.

During the whole thing I was crying but they were silent tears. But when Paris started talking I just couldn’t contain it anymore. That just broke my already shattered heart.
